The Journey into Fashion
Regina Schrecker began as a top model, modeling for great masters in Rome, Florence and Paris.A Central European by training and a cosmopolitan by education, she discovered her passion for fashion in Florence.
After experiences at RAI and the title of "Lady Universe", she became a freelance stylist, transforming herself from model to designer.
The birth of the label
In 1980, Regina Schrecker launched her label, quickly achieving success with an unconventional, modern and refined fashion, inspired by traditions.In 1983, in New York, Andy Warhol dedicated two iconic portraits to her for his label and photographed her for "Interview". In 1985, Arnaldo Pomodoro created the sculptural triangular bottle of her perfume.
Development
In the 1990s, Regina Schrecker brought Italian fashion to the emerging markets of the East and the Orient, reaching countries such as Russia, China and Mongolia.In 1995 she received the Golden Apple from the Marisa Bellisario Foundation. As president of the Florence-Japan Association, since 1990 she has promoted important cultural events between Florence and Kyoto, strengthening the ties between the two cities.
Creativity and International Successes
In 2000 Regina Schrecker created the costumes for *Madama Butterfly*, presented at the Puccini Festival and Expo 2005 in Japan.In 2005 she launched a line of wedding dresses in Kyoto, celebrating the twinning with Florence. She received the "Profilo Donna" award in 2006 and designed the costumes for *Snow White*. In 2007 she inaugurated conferences on the "Greats of Fashion" at Palazzo Pitti.
Innovation and Recent Successes
In recent years, Regina Schrecker has presented bridal collections at the Bridal Fashion Weeks in Milan, Barcelona and New York, launched the Bijoux collection (2015) and a Make-up line (2016).She created costumes for *Rigoletto* (2013) and exhibited works at the Venice Biennale. In 2015, she was the patroness of the Festa delle Marie and won the Design Award in Craiova.
International Awards and Recognitions
In 2016 Regina Schrecker returns to the Puccini Festival with the costumes of *Madama Butterfly*. In Rome she receives the "ModArt - Margutta Award" and presents evening dresses in the suggestive via Margutta.In Cortona she receives the International Semplicemente Donna Award for her commitment to entrepreneurship and social issues, confirming her role as an artistic and cultural protagonist.
Artistic Awards
In 2017 Regina Schrecker obtains prestigious awards: she is chosen for the cover of the renewed magazine *Beesness*.She exhibits at Palazzo Ducale in Mantua with the exhibition *Once upon a time - Le Spose di Regina Schrecker*, returns with *Madama Butterfly* to Seoul, participates as Guest of Honour at the XI Florence Biennale and creates *Rigoletto* at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa.
